Description: The Sewall-Belmont House was built by Robert Sewall in 1800 and is named for him and Alva Belmont, whose contribution enabled the National Woman's Party to buy the house. Dating to 1793, the Sewell-Belmont House is one of the oldest buildings on Capitol Hill. It is headquarters of the National Woman's Party.
